Osinbajo commissions Odu’a housing estate built by UK-based Nigerians

Image
The Westlink Iconic Villa – a joint venture project of Odu’a Investment Company Limited and Chapter Four Estates Management Limited owned by UK-based Nigerians, was commissioned today. Those involved in effecting it, a group of UK-based Nigerian professionals and investors, had said V.P. Yemi Osinbajo had inspired them to come home and invest at a meeting in London years ago with him. On house deficits, the V.P. noted a 17 million significant deficit, noting that we need housing finance, affordable mortgages and social housing. All developed economies have to grow, usually, with government support, and mortgage schemes. After the 2015 UK meeting, he added that the road to raising capital was rough, but these investors remained dogged through the years and the breakthrough was realised through the Odu’a Investments Company Limited. The Odu’a Group Chairman, Mr Bimbo Ashiru, and MD of Chapter Four Estates Management Limited, Mr Shams Ogunmuyiwa, who represented the diasporans, praised th...

Image
A Deputy Governor of the CBN, Folashodun Shonubi, admitted today, Thursday, 9th February 2023, that the ongoing scarcity associated with the naira redesign and cash withdrawal policy was not anticipated. This revelation was made at the 22nd fellowship conferment lecture and ceremony organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers in Abuja, amidst several protests and attacks on banks by angry Nigerians due to the accessibility of cash. “Contrary to public opinion,” he had said, “the redesign plan which has been in the works for two years was not to punish anyone but to improve the economy,” while stating the numerous challenges faced. “These,” he said, were “caused by a new line of business created by indigenous Nigerians.” Still, he revealed that numerous benefits have been achieved which include the retrieval of N2 trillion to the banking system. However, he noted that the challenges will soon fade into history while adding that the CBN will go to any length within its powers to salva...

Atiku vows to restore peace, facilitate free flow of human and agricultural resources

Image
“If you vote for PDP, peace will return to Yobe. We will make sure that our schools are re-open so that our children will continue to go to school,” Atiku Abubakar was noted to have said during the presidential campaign rally in Yobe state. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has laid on the ground his competency in restoring lost glory in the state when elected amidst many promises assuring the people of Yobe hope. He has pledged to reopen the Niger-Benue borders for the free flow of human and agricultural resources. Tinubu’s numerous comics, signs of failing health

Image
The APC presidential candidate has been under strict scrutiny by Nigerians for his alleged poor health condition since he made his intention to contest for the presidency public. Tinubu at a rally in Akwa Ibom State on the 30th of January, erroneously claimed to have made Atiku Abubakar the Senate President, someone who has never crossed that border before. These constant errors are gradually becoming embarrassing to the country, Nigeria. It has to be noted here, that these constant errors or ‘comic scenes,’ could be effects of his failing health. Past instances were his ‘plan’ on recruiting 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army to solve unemployment. Another was his call for PVCs collection which he said would expire ahead of the election. It should be recalled that INEC had to swiftly do some corrections after that started causing panic in the polity, even as he called the card APV, instead of PVC. Nigeria would become the butt of jokes across the world with Tinubu as its Presiden...

Blasphemy: Fani-Kayode reacts against viral image portraying Atiku as Jesus Christ

Image
Femi Fani-Kayode has come out wildly against the PDP’s sacrilegious picture going viral on social media portraying Atiku Abubakar superimposed onto the image of Jesus Christ, as blasphemy. It was observed that Dele Momodu, yesterday morning, Tuesday, 7th February 2023, had posted the image on his social media handle, which has since elicited wild criticisms from all corners, FFK, being one of the chiefest. FFK in reaction, described the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), with unimaginable tags. He had asked for boundaries and if there is nothing sacred to them. He had asked why they could be so free to speak just anything. Responding to FFK, Dele Momodu accused other parties of creating the image to intentionally use against Atiku. He had said opponents were trying to play the religious card on his candidate as he distanced the PDP from the image. He described it as mere propaganda with no life in it. He had insisted that he alongside others like Dino Melaye, Paul Ibe, Daniel Bwa...

Yoruba elders endorse Tinubu for presidency

Image
The Secretary-General of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), Chief Oladipo Oyewole, has stated their unalloyed backing for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the fast-approaching presidential election on February 25. Chief Oyewole revealed this in Ibadan on the 6th of February 2023, after a special executive session, on the group's conviction that Tinubu’s record as Lagos State governor, and other giant strides, make him apt for the seat. Oyewole, while declaring the support, said it was unanimously agreed that “his detribalised disposition, resourceful capacity and love for humanity stood him in good stead to lift the country out of socio-economic precipitation.” It was maintained by the Council that the Yoruba, a major stakeholder in the Nigeria enterprise, should not be pushed aside in the politics of the nation and that only the competent should be paraded for such candidacy as Tinubu. While noting the tense atmosphere engulfing the country as a result of scarcity ...

Peter Obi is a Third Force - Dele Momodu

Image
Former presidential aspirant and PDP chieftain, Dele Momodu, on Tuesday, 6th February 2023, has stylishly come out to describe Nigeria's Party System as a ‘Two-Party’ one by referring to Peter Obi as a Third Force. On Channels TV’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’, he said, the Labour Party had aspired to become a ‘Third Force’ to bring change to the political landscape, but is ‘struggling’ because a presidential race is not a marathon and ‘takes time to build bridges’. “Usually, in many countries,” he had said, “you have two mainstream political parties and candidates. In the case of Nigeria, now we seem to have a third force, the fourth force is not doing much.” Even though he categorises Obi as part of the ‘leading candidates,’ stating them as Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, (note the arrangement), then others, the use of the term embeds much in portraying Obi’s ‘probable’ fate in the elections. What is a ‘Third Force’? Though originally used by the ANC in the 1980s/1990s with what is of no ‘concern’ in ...

Image
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who presently is the APC presidential campaign council Director of New Media/Special Projects, Femi Fani-Kayode, has come out with some threats targeted at some perceived enemies. FFK, today, Tuesday, 7th February 2023, has threatened to fight and bury some perceived political enemies, including members of the cabal, with warnings that a battle line has been drawn. “Was out of circulation due to ill health for two weeks but now I am back and fully restored,” he had said, and is back and ready for war, against the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, and others he didn't mention. Others outside the APC, are a former Director in the APC presidential campaign council, Najaatu Muhammad, the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. Atiku will poll over a million votes in Benue - Ogaji

Image
Bright Ogaji, a Benue South Senatorial PDP aspirant in the May 2022 primaries, and Coordinator of the Benue Voters in Diaspora (BVD), had said Atiku would poll over a million votes in Benue. Ogaji, a US-based philanthropist and former chairman of Oju Local Government Council, had stated that contrary to opinions from many quarters, Atiku will emerge the winner at the February 25 election across the country. He said Atiku will secure a landslide vote from Benue State. With registered voters in Benue State announced to be 2.7 million, Ogaji inferred that the PDP man will sweep Benue irrespective of Ortom’s fury with the party's leadership. A critical figure amongst the G-5 Governors of PDP which Ortom is, Ogaji said all members of the BVD from various countries would arrive in Nigeria and Benue State, for an aggressive grassroots mobilisation for Atiku and PDP. With all getting set day by day, the bubbles are getting bigger. Tensions are rising, tendons are working. Nights receding, ...
