Ajaero elected as new NLC President

Ajaero, the new President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, has vowed to mobilise members against the current scarcity of Naira notes if the government failed to address the issue by the end of next week.

Comrade Joe Ajaero, NLC Deputy President and Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), succeeded Comrade Ayuba Wabba as its National President, yesterday, Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

The new NLC boss, born on December 17, 1964, in Emekuku Owerri-North, Imo State, emerged unopposed at the end of the 13th National Delegates Conference in Abuja, yesterday, Wednesday, 8th February 2023.

He promised a robust engagement of the government “to stop the impunity and pervasive wickedness in the country in the name of petroleum product pricing.” He similarly promised protection from all anti-people policies.

He affirmed that the tradition of ensuring that Nigerians are not plundered by the government will be continued and reduced to the barest minimum as the government ought to provide comfort for the citizenry.
