Peter Obi is a Third Force - Dele Momodu
Former presidential aspirant and PDP chieftain, Dele Momodu, on Tuesday, 6th February 2023, has stylishly come out to describe Nigeria's Party System as a ‘Two-Party’ one by referring to Peter Obi as a Third Force. On Channels TV’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’, he said, the Labour Party had aspired to become a ‘Third Force’ to bring change to the political landscape, but is ‘struggling’ because a presidential race is not a marathon and ‘takes time to build bridges’. “Usually, in many countries,” he had said, “you have two mainstream political parties and candidates. In the case of Nigeria, now we seem to have a third force, the fourth force is not doing much.” Even though he categorises Obi as part of the ‘leading candidates,’ stating them as Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, (note the arrangement), then others, the use of the term embeds much in portraying Obi’s ‘probable’ fate in the elections.
