Tinubu’s numerous comics, signs of failing health

The APC presidential candidate has been under strict scrutiny by Nigerians for his alleged poor health condition since he made his intention to contest for the presidency public.

Tinubu at a rally in Akwa Ibom State on the 30th of January, erroneously claimed to have made Atiku Abubakar the Senate President, someone who has never crossed that border before.


These constant errors are gradually becoming embarrassing to the country, Nigeria. It has to be noted here, that these constant errors or ‘comic scenes,’ could be effects of his failing health.


Past instances were his ‘plan’ on recruiting 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army to solve unemployment. Another was his call for PVCs collection which he said would expire ahead of the election.

It should be recalled that INEC had to swiftly do some corrections after that started causing panic in the polity, even as he called the card APV, instead of PVC.


Nigeria would become the butt of jokes across the world with Tinubu as its President as Governor Tinubu of 1999 to 2007 is quite different from Flagbearer Tinubu of 2023.


The irony here, and sadly too, appears to be Tinubu’s physical strength (which is already calling for national concern) being superior to his mental capacity.

Recall that at the Chatham House, London, Tinubu could only hide under the pretext of “working with an unbreakable team,” which has chased people like Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo from his camp.

Many polls are being released ahead of the presidential election on the 25th of February, with the most recent being the Premise Data Corp polls for Bloomberg in San Francisco, where Obi emerged winner on Friday. In the US-based poll, Obi polled 66 per cent of the votes, as Tinubu and Atiku polled 18 and 10 per cent respectively. Kwakwanso, faulting these polls predicting the February 25 outcome, states that his supporters are not on social media. “If you want to meet them, go to Wuse Market, go to the markets in Kano; go to the market in Sabo, Ibadan, go to markets in Rivers and the roads and so on, and ask people,” he had said saying they don’t represent the realities on the ground.
