Why I’m supporting Tinubu to take over from me – Buhari tells Sultan of Sokoto

-

While in Sokoto at the APC Presidential Campaign on a courtesy call on the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar III, Buhari said he is supporting Tinubu, because he is the best to take over from him.

Buhari maintained that if elected, Tinubu will continue his legacy and consolidate on the gains made in the fight against insurgency and banditry, saying with the APC flagbearer, Nigeria is in a safe hand.

He said having been together for more than twenty years, he knows Tinubu as a very committed Nigerian whose leadership qualities he can attest to and that Nigeria will remain in safe hands.

Buhari went back through history lane and stated that Tinubu performed well when he was Governor of Lagos State and that he won the APC presidential primary in a free, fair and credible process.

Tinubu himself, appealed to the monarch, seeking his blessings and endorsement. Because Mr President ‘is here,’ Tinubu had said it is something Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar cannot reject.

“Baba mi, the only thing that will provoke a crisis is if, after @officialABAT wins, someone attempts to annul or deny him his mandate. Such an act will result in not just a crisis but a monumental & raging conflagration.” The above is a quote from Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, in response to Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s comment, “Prepare for crisis if Obi doesn’t win,” where he had stated that there would be a crisis if Peter Obi loses the election. FFK had warned against any attempt to rig the “anticipated victory” of the All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu at the February 25th polls where Adebanjo had issued a caution. The nonagenarian had ‘warned’ of a possible breaking up of Nigeria if the electorate fails to vote for Obi during the presidential election. He had warned that Nigerians should prepare for war, explaining plots by some. Adebanjo had alleged that Obi is leading the crusade to get Nigeria out of bondage, and had also claimed that ...

EFFECTS OF DROUGHT IN THE PRODUCTION OF MAIZE AND ITS TOLERANCE IN SOUTH WESTERN REGION

-
Drought is a prolonged period of abnormally low rainfall leading to a shortage of water. A long period where there is little or no rain causes severe ruin in the production of maize crops. Drought is the most severe abiotic stress and hinders the normal growth and development of plants. The effects of drought on maize depend on the growth stage of prevalence, duration of prevalence and intensity of the drought. Drought can limit the growing season and create conditions that encourage insect and disease infestation in certain crops like maize. Low yield of maize can result in rising maize prices and shortages. Today, the world faces many problems with crop production, and among them, drought is the most dangerous. Water is a cooling agent that plays important role in the functioning of the plant body. It is directly needed for the normal growth and development of maize crops. Any imbalance in water availability exposes the plants to water stress. Maize belongs to a tropical environment ...

90 percent of my supporters are not on social media - Kwankwaso

Many polls are being released ahead of the presidential election on the 25th of February, with the most recent being the Premise Data Corp polls for Bloomberg in San Francisco, where Obi emerged winner on Friday. In the US-based poll, Obi polled 66 per cent of the votes, as Tinubu and Atiku polled 18 and 10 per cent respectively. Kwakwanso, faulting these polls predicting the February 25 outcome, states that his supporters are not on social media. “If you want to meet them, go to Wuse Market, go to the markets in Kano; go to the market in Sabo, Ibadan, go to markets in Rivers and the roads and so on, and ask people,” he had said saying they don’t represent the realities on the ground. He had said this on Channels Television’s election programme The 2023 Verdict. The sample size of the polls he had said, is insufficient and does not reflect the wishes of the people, but probably to get donations. He further claimed that some of those polled are not in Nigeria and cannot vote during the ...
