90 percent of my supporters are not on social media - Kwankwaso

Many polls are being released ahead of the presidential election on the 25th of February, with the most recent being the Premise Data Corp polls for Bloomberg in San Francisco, where Obi emerged winner on Friday.

In the US-based poll, Obi polled 66 per cent of the votes, as Tinubu and Atiku polled 18 and 10 per cent respectively. Kwakwanso, faulting these polls predicting the February 25 outcome, states that his supporters are not on social media.

“If you want to meet them, go to Wuse Market, go to the markets in Kano; go to the market in Sabo, Ibadan, go to markets in Rivers and the roads and so on, and ask people,” he had said saying they don’t represent the realities on the ground.

He had said this on Channels Television’s election programme The 2023 Verdict. The sample size of the polls he had said, is insufficient and does not reflect the wishes of the people, but probably to get donations.

He further claimed that some of those polled are not in Nigeria and cannot vote during the election, as he warned that such polls may throw the country into trouble if the projected winner fails during the election.

The polls are to “give an impression that some of us are not in the race, and in our opinion, that paper (polls) should be put upside down and number four (himself) should be number one,” he was noted to have said.
