We didn’t endorse Peter Obi, or any Presidential candidate – PFN
Rumours of an endorsement of the Labour Party's candidate, Peter Obi for the presidency by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), have been circulating on social media platforms.

To this, the PFN National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Dr Gospel Emmah Isong, has spoken to clarify issues, denying any form of endorsement ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Bishop made this known during a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP at the PFN’s 17th Biennial Conference in Bayelsa State, where Christians come together and fellowship with the organisation.
Bishop Isong had referred to the rumours as “fake news” which he encouraged everyone to disregard. The Conference had both the PDP’s Vice Presidential candidate and Peter Obi in attendance on the same day.
He noted that at no point did the National President or members of the NEC endorse any political party or candidate, as the Fellowship called on the 60 million Christians in Nigeria to vote according to their conscience.
It was similarly emphasised that the organisation will not force any Christian to vote for a specific candidate as political followers were urged to avoid using social media to campaign for their candidates.
“Political campaigns should go beyond social media, as the PFN is not partisan, and is aware that members belong to different political parties. Therefore, it cannot endorse any political candidate.” the PFN had warned.
